Neuhaus wants to stay despite clause – Ginter wants to “to grow” in Gladbachdespite clause

With a market value of €38 million, Florian Neuhaus is the most valuable player in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s squad. The contract of the 24-year-old runs until 2024, but he can leave for €40 million thanks to an exit clause. Bayern Munich were interested in the past, and Liverpool are now keeping an eye on the player.Bildreported on Monday that the midfielder wants to stay in Gladbach until at least 2022—even if the club misses out on playing internationally.

Gladbach could be willing to talk should a club offer more than the €40 million exit clause. Neuhaus would have to change his opinion first, however. Granit Xhaka is currently the most expensive departure in club history—the midfielder joined Arsenal for a fee of €45 million in 2016.

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Ginter: “My goal is to play in Europe”

Neuhaus is not the only player wanted by other clubs. Mattias Ginter is currently in talks to renew his contract, which will expire in 2022. Whether he will stay will not just be dependent on the club qualifying for Europe. “My goal is to play in Europe every year,” Ginter said in an interview withEurosport.“But signing a new contract isn’t just dependent on that.” Talks with new head coach Adi Hütter and sporting director Max Eberl are yet to take place. “As a result, I have nothing new to report.”

“The club has made a big step forward,” Ginter, who joined Gladbach from Borussia Dortmund for €17 million in 2017, said. “It would be interesting to build something here and to grow further. I am no longer young but also not 33. I have a few years left, and I want to achieve the maximum.” With 31 matchdays concluded, Gladbach ranks seventh in the Bundesliga.

But if Ginter is not renewing his contract this summer, the club could be forced to sell the defender. With a market value of €35 million, Ginter is the second most valuable player at Gladbach behind Neuhaus.
