Mbappé new record for Real Madrid? – Monaco would benefit
The rumored fees, whether they are €170m or €180m would be a new record fee for Real Madrid. But it would also be the biggest fee ever paid for a player with just one year remaining on his contract. The only player that would be more expensive in history would be Neymar. Mbappé already ranks second, PSG paid €145 million after a one-year loan deal from Monaco.
Mbappé at the topThe most valuable players in the worldOverviewMonaco would benefit from a transfer. The club from the principality would receive an additional €35 million should Mbappé renew his contract or leave PSG before his contract expires. Real, in the meantime, are no strangers when it comes to paying a significant fee for a player with just one year left on his contract. In 2019 Los Blancos paid €115 million to Chelsea to sign Eden Hazard, who only had 12 months left on his deal.
